Daily Tech Brief is published from Alberta, Canada. We keep our data practices simple, explain them plainly, and never sell or share your address.
What we collect
When you subscribe, we collect your email address. We also collect acquisition information when it is present: utmSource, utmMedium, utmCampaign, utmContent, fbclid, your referrer, the signup URL, and the consent timestamp. We do not ask for more personal information than the newsletter needs.
Why we collect it
We use your email address to send the Daily Tech Brief newsletter and to honor your unsubscribe or deletion requests. The acquisition fields help us understand which newsletter links are useful and document when consent was given. We do not use this information for unrelated marketing.
Our processor
Newsletter signup and delivery are handled by Loops, our email service provider and data processor. Loops processes subscriber data on our behalf so we can send the newsletter and manage subscriptions.
What we share
We never sell or share your email address for advertising or unrelated marketing. We share information only with service providers required to operate Daily Tech Brief, such as Loops, or when disclosure is required by law.
Your choices
Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe link. To request deletion of your subscriber information, or to ask a privacy question, email hello@dailytechbrief.com. We will respond to deletion requests within a reasonable period.
Canadian privacy
We follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Commercial newsletter emails are sent in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), including consent, identification, and unsubscribe requirements.
